🔔 HIRING: Agric Technical Officer at Raedial Farms – NG

Responsibilities

• Provide complex technical support and advise on aspects of agriculture such as research, production, servicing and marketing
• Provide ready samples for analysis, following appropriate procedures to ensure that they are stored, prepared, and disposed of properly.
• Implement and oversee efficient oil palm cultivation practices, adhering to industry standards and best practices.
• Provide technical guidance and support to plantation workers on various tasks, including planting, pruning, fertilization, and pest control.
• Monitor and assess crop health, identifying potential diseases, pests, and nutrient deficiencies.
• Collaborate with plantation management to plan and implement irrigation systems for optimal water management.
• Conduct soil analysis and make recommendations for soil improvement and nutrient management.
• Assist in the development and execution of crop rotation and intercropping strategies to enhance overall farm productivity.
• Mixes soil, sand, and fertilizers according to specifications; prepares insecticide solutions and operates spray equipment on assigned plots and acreage for insect control

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Agricultural Extension, Agronomy, Crop Production / Protection or relevant field.
• Proficiency in data collection, analysis, and record-keeping.
• Excellent communication skills
• Familiarity with modern agricultural technologies and tools.
• Experience with curriculum design, particularly for agricultural best practices.
• Ability to Work in remote areas of the farm and be able to work as part of a team
