A strategic and experienced Construction General Manager responsible for overseeing all phases of construction projects—from planning and budgeting to execution and completion. The role ensures timely, cost-effective delivery with high standards of quality and safety, requiring strong leadership and expertise in infrastructure projects such as buildings, roads, water systems, and power infrastructure

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement detailed project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation for the delivery of multiple infrastructure projects simultaneously.
  • Manage and coordinate construction teams, subcontractors, suppliers, consultants, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment and efficient project execution.
  • Oversee project budgeting, forecasting, and financial controls to ensure cost efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory legal laws, environmental regulations, safety standards, and client requirements.
  • Monitor construction tracking and adjust schedules and resources as necessary.
  • Foster strong relationships with government agencies, regulatory bodies, clients, and other stakeholders.
  • Manage the procurement of materials, equipment, and services.
  • Identify potential risks to projects and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure the implementation of quality control and health & safety policies on site
  • Provide strategic leadership and mentorship to project managers, engineers, architects, and site superviso
  • Conduct regular meetings with the project team to review progress, address challenges, and ensure that goals are being met.
  • Prepare and present regular reports on project status, risks, and milestones to executive leadership.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, standards, and best practices.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (Master’s degree or PMP is a plus).
  • Minimum of 15–18 years of progressive experience in construction management, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Proven experience managing large-scale infrastructure projects (building, roads, bridges, airports, energy, water systems, etc.).
  • Strong knowledge of Nigerian construction codes, regulations, and procurement systems.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects under pressure and within tight deadlines.
  • Proficient in construction project management software and tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera, AutoCAD).
  • Familiarity with international project management standards (e.g., FIDIC, ISO, World Bank/IFC guidelines) is an advantage.
  • Strong understanding of construction processes management.
  • Strong financial acumen and experience with budget management.
