Job Summary

The Construction Site Engineer is responsible for overseeing daily on-site operations to ensure construction projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. This role involves coordinating workers, subcontractors, materials, and equipment while maintaining compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate all site activities and personnel, including subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Ensure work is carried out according to plans, specifications, and schedules.
  • Conduct daily site inspections and monitor work progress.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site at all times.
  • Assist in planning daily and weekly work schedules.
  • Communicate effectively with the Project Manager, engineers, and other stakeholders.
  • Ensure timely delivery and storage of materials and equipment.
  • Resolve on-site issues or conflicts quickly and efficiently.
  • Monitor workmanship to ensure compliance with quality standards and project specifications.
  • Conduct inspections and tests as required.
  • Report and document any defects, rework, or deviations.
  • Enforce strict adherence to safety regulations and procedures.
  • Conduct toolbox talks and safety briefings.
  • Report and investigate accidents, near misses, or unsafe conditions.
  • Maintain accurate site records, including daily logs, attendance, progress reports, and equipment usage.
  • Report progress, issues, and changes to the Project Manager regularly.
  • Support in preparing handover documents and as-built records.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or related course of study.
  • 2+ years of experience in construction site supervision.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and safety standards.
  • Proficiency in reading drawings, blueprints, and technical documents.
  • Familiarity with project management software and MS Office tools.
  • Excellent leadership and team coordination skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
