Job Purpose:
To ensure that UNICPF operates within a healthy financial environment and meets all of its obligations and accountabilities on time. The position holder supports establishing, operating, and maintaining good financial systems and controls. He/she is responsible for the day-to-day management of financial transactions and procedures in line with organizational and Donor policies and principles.
Duties /Responsibilities:ย
- Responsible for entering financial information and maintaining all financial records on the accounting software โ Quick Book.ย
- Prepare payment, journal, and receipt vouchers in line with UNICPF Policiesย
- Provide financial inputs for proposal development, project management, Human Resource Management policies, logistics, travel and other areas of administration.ย
- Receive receipts and invoices from staff on external regular purposes and services for retirementsย
- Keep records of all transaction documents both electronically and manually scanned and properly stored on Cloud with UNICPF policies.ย
- Involve in performing procurement processes โ Selection of vendors/suppliersย
- Provide field logistics information for documentation of purchase for the project financial expenditures, support the preparation of the projects audit reports.ย
- To work as part of a team; providing support where necessary in the area of finance.ย
- Manage travels for staff in the field and for trainingย
- Support in preparation and availability of statutory financial Statements, Annual Income Tax returns, PAYE returns and WHT.
- Ensure all travel and purchases advances are liquidated on time.ย
- Manage petty cash.ย
- Support program staff in making payments to participants during activities implementation.ย
- Perform any other accounting duty that may arise from time to time.ย
- Ensure that all banking transactions are done on time with very minimum risk and in line with organizational and donor policies.ย
Qualifications and Skills:
- Education: Bachelorโs degree in Banking and Finance, Accounting or another related field.
- Experience: At least 3 years of experience in Financial Management, preferably in an NGO.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Proficiency in Accounting software and Financial Reporting tools
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
