💡 Opportunity Summary

  • Accurately calculating the Net Asset Value (NAV) of the fund on a daily basis by valuing all investments and reconciling transactions.
  • Preparing accurate financial statements for the fund, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, in accordance with relevant accounting standards.
  • Must be a member of Institute of Chartered of Accountant and other relevant accounting certifications can be an advantage.


Key responsibilities of a fund accountant:

  • Accurately calculating the Net Asset Value (NAV) of the fund on a daily basis by valuing all investments and reconciling transactions. 
  • Recording and reconciling all investment transactions including purchases, sales, dividends, and interest payments.
  • Determining the fair market value of fund assets using appropriate valuation methodologies. 
  • Preparing accurate financial statements for the fund, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, in accordance with relevant accounting standards. 
  • Ensuring the fund adheres to all applicable regulations regarding accounting, reporting, and investor protection. 
  • Collaborating with external auditors to facilitate the audit process by providing necessary documentation and explanations. 
  • Performing regular reconciliations of fund positions with custodian and administrator records to identify discrepancies and resolve issues. 
  • Analyzing financial data to identify trends and provide insights to fund managers. 

Required skills and qualifications:

  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, including generally accepted accounting standards (GAAP) or International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). 
  • Familiarity with different investment instruments like equities, fixed income, derivatives, and their valuation methodologies. 
  • Ability to analyze complex financial data and identify potential discrepancies. 
  • High level of accuracy and meticulous attention to detail is essential for financial recordkeeping.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and financial data analysis tools. 
  • Effective communication with fund managers, custodians, administrators, and internal stakeholders. 

Relevant certifications:

  • Must be a member of Institute of Chartered of Accountant and other relevant accounting certifications can be an advantage. 
  • Minimum Of 6 Years of experience
