Role Overview:

• The generator operator will be responsible for the operation, maintenance, and monitoring of electrical generators to ensure uninterrupted power supply. They will oversee the start-up, running, shutdown, and routine inspections of generators.

Responsibilities:

• Operate and monitor generators to ensure efficient and safe performance.
• Perform routine checks and preventive maintenance on generator equipment.
• Identify and troubleshoot generator faults and system malfunctions.
• Maintain accurate logs of generator performance, fuel levels, and maintenance activities.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and standard operating procedures.
• Coordinate with engineers or technicians for major repairs or servicing.
• Monitor fuel consumption and arrange timely refuelling.
• Assist in installing and testing new generators when required.

Requirements:

• OND or HND in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
• Must have hands-on experience operating or servicing 11KV gas or diesel generators.
• Familiarity with power plant equipment, including generators, breakers, switch-gears, compressors, and related systems.
• Prior experience as a Generator Operator or Service Technician in a power generation or industrial setting is required.
• Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical system.
• Ability to troubleshoot and perform routine maintenance on generator units and associated equipment.
