The Position:
AMEWAS is seeking a highly motivated and talented Graphics Software Developer-Senior to support Battlespace Modeling & Simulation. The salary range of this position is $125,000.00 – $185,000.00, and is commensurate with experience. The Synthetic Environment Modeling (SEM) team is a government run organization that develops the Next Generation Threat System (NGTS) software program, a continually evolving synthetic environment generator that supports modeling and simulation (M&S) environments. The NGTS product users include trainer systems; test and evaluation (T&E); analysis; live, virtual and constructive (LVC); research and development (R&D) activities for DoD agencies and its international partners. NGTS is government owned, developed and managed.A typical day as a Graphics Software Developer-Senior may include:- Develops software for an advanced synthetic training environment
- Integrates software into flight simulators to support pilot training against potential threats
- Supports software development, software integration, customer training and demonstrations
- Works with small teams in an Agile environment
- Contributes to a large codebase of shared libraries and applications with other teams
- Works closely with Subject Matter Experts to create software solutions tailored to warfighter simulation needs
- Uses case analysis, software design, implementation and testing
Must-haves:
- BS Degree in in Computer Science or Computer Engineering: Degrees in Engineering, Math and Physics may qualify with 10 years of recent C++ experience
- 10 years of relevant work experience
- Recent experience with C++ 11 or later
- Knowledge of Vulkan, OpenGL or DirectX
- Knowledge of standard programming algorithms, design patterns and object-oriented software design
- The ability to collaborate with team members to design future enhancements
- The ability to travel to and attend occasional on-site meetings
- The ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance
Desired Skills:
- Experience with game development and simulation
- Experience with real-time rendering techniques, Vulkan, GLSL/HLSL Shader development, WebGL and RenderDoc
- Experience with software and architecture design and API design
- Experience with linear algebra and GIS
- Experience with scripting in Bash/Batch/PowerShell, Lua and Python
- Experience with Linux and CMake
