Role Description
- This is a full-time, on-site role for a Human Resources Specialist located in Rano. The Human Resources Specialist will handle day-to-day HR tasks including developing and implementing HR policies, managing employee benefits, and overseeing personnel management.
- The specialist will also address employee concerns, maintain employee records, and support HR management in ensuring a productive workplace.
Key Responsibilities
Recruitment & Talent Management:
- Develop and implement effective recruitment strategies to attract skilled talent across farming, operations, and corporate roles.
- Lead the onboarding process, ensuring seamless integration of new employees.
- Build career pathways and development plans for staff.
Employee Relations & Engagement:
- Foster a positive work environment that encourages collaboration, accountability, and inclusivity.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for employee concerns and conflict resolution.
- Promote gender equity by advancing programs that empower and integrate women into various roles across the farm.
Training & Development:
- Identify skill gaps and create training programs for staff at all levels.
- Partner with external trainers and institutions to upskill employees.
- Implement leadership and capacity-building initiatives to strengthen the workforce.
HR Operations & Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with Nigerian labor laws and company policies.
- Oversee employee contracts, payroll support, leave management, and performance evaluations.
- Maintain accurate HR records and develop HR metrics/reports for management decision-making.
Culture & Organizational Development:
- Drive initiatives that align employees with Sagad Farms’ mission and values.
- Lead diversity, equity, and inclusion programs, especially increasing women’s participation in agriculture and leadership roles.
- Support change management as the company expands operations.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Industrial Relations, or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years’ HR experience (preferably in agribusiness, FMCG, or manufacturing).
- Strong knowledge of Nigerian labor law and HR best practices.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to manage recruitment, employee relations, and performance management systems.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to balance people needs with organizational goals.
