Job Summary
- The Junior Finance Officer will support the Finance Department in managing the hospital’s financial transactions, maintaining accurate records, processing payments, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations.

Key Responsibilities
Financial Transactions & Accounting:
- Assist in recording daily financial transactions, including payments, receipts, and journal entries.
- Support the reconciliation of bank statements, accounts payable, and receivable records.
- Ensure timely and accurate processing of invoices, bills, and supplier payments.
- Monitor and track petty cash expenses and maintain accurate records.
- Assist in payroll processing, including salary calculations, deductions, and tax compliance.
Financial Reporting & Compliance
- Support the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Assist in budget tracking and variance analysis for hospital expenditures.
- Ensure compliance with financial policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain financial documentation and ensure proper filing of records.
- Assist with audits by preparing required financial data and documentation.
Revenue & Expense Management:
- Monitor hospital revenue streams and ensure accurate billing and payment tracking.
- Support revenue collection by following up on outstanding payments from patients and insurers.
- Work with other departments to ensure proper expense management and cost control.
- Identify discrepancies and report any financial irregularities to the Finance Manager.
Collaboration & Process Improvement:
- Work closely with procurement, HR, and administrative teams to ensure smooth financial operations.
- Assist in developing and implementing financial policies and internal controls.
- Provide recommendations for improving financial efficiency and reducing waste.
- Assist in any other financial duties as assigned by the Finance Manager or senior management
Experience
- Candidates should possess Bachelor’s Degrees
- 1 – 3 years of experience in finance, accounting, or bookkeeping (experience in a hospital or healthcare setting is a plus).
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or similar) and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills.
- Good knowledge of financial regulations and accounting principles.
- Ability to handle confidential financial information with integrity.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
