  • The Mechanical Fitter will be responsible for assembling, installing, maintaining, and repairing mechanical systems, machinery, and equipment used in steel production.
  • The role ensures minimal downtime, maximum equipment efficiency, and compliance with safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assemble, fit, and install mechanical components and production machinery.
  • Inspect and troubleshoot mechanical equipment to identify faults and carry out repairs.
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance to minimize equipment breakdowns.
  • Align, adjust, and calibrate machinery parts to required specifications.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and maintenance manuals.
  • Operate hand tools, welding machines, and other fitting equipment safely.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed and spare parts used.
  • Collaborate with the production and electrical teams to ensure smooth operations.
  • Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental (HSE) procedures.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Trade Test Certificate (Mechanical Fitting) or OND (Ordinary National Diploma) or HND (Higher National Diploma) in Mechanical Engineering or related fields.
  • 2–5 years of experience as a Mechanical Fitter in a manufacturing or steel production environment.
