Position Overview

  • We are looking for a highly skilled and registered Projects Supervisor with a robust background in structural engineering for high-rise construction.
  • The ideal candidate will be a proven leader responsible for the overall planning, coordination, and control of a project from inception to completion.
  • You will lead a multidisciplinary team to ensure the project is delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert technical guidance on all structural engineering aspects of high-rise building projects, ensuring designs are practical and implemented correctly on site.
  • Lead, mentor, and manage a multidisciplinary project team, including site engineers, quantity surveyors, procurement officers, and subcontractors.
  • Develop, monitor, and update comprehensive project plans, schedules, and budgets, ensuring alignment with project goals and deadlines.
  • Implement and enforce strict quality control procedures to ensure all work complies with approved designs, specifications, and regulatory standards (e.g., COREN, NSE, Building Codes).
  • Oversee all on-site activities to ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations, maintaining a zero-accident culture.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, consultants, regulatory bodies, and internal management, providing regular progress reports and resolving issues promptly.
  • Coordinate with the procurement team to ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment, verifying their quality and suitability for the project.
  • Work closely with Quantity Surveyors to monitor project expenditures, control costs, review variations, and ensure financial objectives are met.
  • Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate project risks related to construction methodology, logistics, and timelines.
  • Ensure meticulous documentation of all site activities, including daily reports, progress photos, inspection records, and as-built drawings.

Requirements

  • Qualifications and Experience
    • A Bachelor’s Degree in Civil / Structural Engineering. A Master’s degree will be an added advantage.
    • Must be a fully registered and licensed member of COREN, NSE, NICE, etc.
    • A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in structural engineering, with a proven and verifiable track record specifically in the construction of high-rise buildings within the real estate sector.
    • Demonstrable experience in leading and managing a team of site engineers, quantity surveyors, and procurement personnel.
    • In-depth knowledge of construction methods, legal regulations, and health and safety standards in Nigeria.
    • Proficiency in industry-standard software (e.g., AutoCAD, MS Project, Primavera P6, and structural analysis software like SAP2000, ETABS, or STAAD.Pro).
