ROLE SUMMARY

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Water Engineer to oversee the day-to-day management, maintenance, and operational efficiency of all physical infrastructure and support services within the pharmaceutical manufacturing facility. This role is critical in ensuring a safe, functional, and compliant plant environment that enables uninterrupted operations and supports staff well-being.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee the operation and maintenance of all water systems including Raw Water, Reverse Osmosis (RO), Deionization, PW, WFI, and Clean Steam.
  • Monitor system performance and water quality parameters to ensure compliance with GMP and pharmacopeial standards (USP, BP).
  • Manage the generation, storage, and distribution of PW/WFI systems in the production areas.
  • Conduct periodic validation, qualification, and sampling of water systems in line with QA/QC protocols.
  • Perform routine and preventive maintenance of equipment such as pumps, UV sterilizers, filtration systems, tanks, and piping.
  • Investigate system deviations, troubleshoot faults, and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Maintain proper documentation including logbooks, SOPs, water quality records, and maintenance reports.
  • Support the installation and commissioning of new water-related equipment and utilities.
  • Liaise with QA, Production, Maintenance, and HSE teams to ensure uninterrupted and compliant utility service.
  • Ensure strict adherence to safety standards, regulatory requirements, and internal policies.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • B.Eng/B.Tech in Water Resources Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum of 3–5 years’ experience in pharmaceutical, food, or beverage manufacturing with strong exposure to Purified Water/WFI systems.
  • Strong knowledge of water purification technologies – Reverse Osmosis, Electro-Deionization, Distillation, etc.
  • Familiarity with GMP, validation protocols, and NAFDAC/WHO regulations.
  • Experience with SCADA, PLCs, and automated control systems is an added advantage.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Full-time, onsite role based at our Sagamu facility.
  • May occasionally require extended hours or weekend availability during critical maintenance or validation activities.
